Baking Cupcakes and Making DIY Cupcake-Toppers!

Spring is coming and what could be more fun than making spring cupcake toppers together? Are you ready for a baking adventure? Let's make cupcakes together and decorate them with homemade DIY cupcake toppers in the shape of cheerful flowers. Ready for a creative and delicious adventure with your little baker-in-training? And of course, don't forget to dress your little one(s) in the cutest Koko Noko outfit, because crafting is always more fun in style. Let's get started!

Baking Cupcakes Together

The first step is to bake the cupcakes. We already picked out a delicious recipe for you:

125g butter (at room temperature)
125g granulated sugar
125g self rising flour
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to make the cupcakes.

Heat the oven to 180 degrees
Have your little one put the butter and sugar in a large bowl. It will be a little messy, but that's part of it!
While you hold the mixer, have your little chef add the eggs to the mixture one at a time. Mix until smooth.
Add the self-rising baking flour to the mixture and let your child help mix. Don't forget to add a little vanilla extract for extra flavor!
Divide the batter among the cupcake pans and let your little assistant help fill them. A little mess is not bad at all!
Bake them in the center of the oven for about 20 to 25 minutes until done. Check with a skewer to see if they are done. Let the cupcakes cool on a wire rack.

Making Spring Cupcake Toppers

While the cupcakes are in the oven, it's time for creativity: making the cupcake toppers. We have already prepared fun spring cupcake toppers for you, but they still need to be decorated.

Print out the DIY cupcake topper on white paper. Let your child choose the colors and decorate the flowers as they like.
Help your little one cut out the flowers. This can still be a little tricky, so a little help from mom or dad is welcome.
Let your child stick the flowers on the prickers while you apply the tape. Working together is the key to success.

Decorating Cupcakes and Feasting Together!

Now comes the fun part: decorating! Let your little one help decorate the cupcakes. Use frosting, buttercream, or melted chocolate as a base for the decorations. Sprinkles and other decorations complete the look!

Together, put the flowery cupcake toppers on the cupcakes and admire your colorful creations/"bunch of flowers. They are too pretty to eat.... Well, almost then! Take a bite of your homemade creations together and enjoy the taste of your baking skills.

And finally, why not share some of your 'bunch of flowers' cupcakes with friends and family? Spread the joy of spring by surprising others with these delicious treats. They will surely appreciate that you put so much effort into making something special.
